Hi all
any tips on tweening a bitmap? So that it smoothly scales from 2% to 100%? I just cant get it to play smoothly... The stage is 1024X768 at 25 fps but I have tried at 800X600 at 18fps and it wasn't any better. Bitmap is about 700X500 (72di) jpeg. thanks PS scripting the movement didnt help much either...

Hi Billy,
does breaking it apart help at all? This sometimes makes it better - sometimes worse! Cheers, R |

Just out of interest - does it play better in the stand alone player or in the web browser?

A pic with that size won't be that smooth that as anyone dreams with flash, but try to reduse its quality as much as u can without loosing it ..... it's the only way i think

I tried it with 3 different jpgs at max (12) quality, medium (6) and low (0) and also with a BMP file and they all tweened smoothly from 2% to 100% @25 fps - 1024x768 (over 100 frames).
I think its just a problem with the flash player being processor intensive ![]() |

billy, do you need any other flash elements other than the tweened bitmap to be exported into quicktime? i would suggest using premiere/aftereffects/finalcut to do the bitmap effect over the required number of frames (i think aftereffects would be best for this, easily control exact pixel values and frames etc.), export from their into a .mov, then bring into director for the rest of the project?
even if you want to put flash elements in with the bitmap tweening, if your only going to export as a quicktime and take it into director, can you not still import the .mov into flash and then it will still export as a nice smooth .mov into director, with VR elements and all if ya want ![]() |

yeah good thinking Nick...
problem was I was helping out a friend and he had already made about 20 flash files with animated bitmaps and text. In hindsight, a video program would have definitely been a better option. cheers
