Okay okay okay. I have learned how to use probabbly only 10% of Flash Macromedia. Im thinking that the other 90% is in actionscripting. I have really bout NO clue on where to start of what kind of book I should get to read. Im not a programmer but catch things pretty well. So a beginners book to actionscripting probabbly will not allow me to do what I want to finish accomplishing.
Here's the deal. I want to be able to manipluate objects through actionscripting and making the cool effects without having to go through all the tweening and creating graphics. Im sure u all know that it takes up a heck of a lot more space with just using that method. Thats why I want to know of a book that will smack me upside the head saying this is alllll you have to do and these are the neat-o-nifty things you can do with it! Any suggestions on books that I can buy or something would be greatly appreciated :-) |

A book is only useful to an extent. If you're not a programmer I would recommend buying a book because it will go through step by step how to use functions and what they do. A good book will (in a round about way) teach you the fundamentals of programming.
Once you know the fundamentals you've really just got to think of trial projects and challenge yourself to try and figure out how to achieve a desired effect. Most books on Flash 5 will include info on how to manipulate objects using GetPorperty an setProperty, and this will allow you to achieve the tweening via actionscript which you reffer to. Checkout our books section: http://www.actionscripts.org/books.shtml The reviews at Amazon will help you choose which is the best for you. No reviews by us yet, as Strok said, because we haven't had the books shipped yet. Cheers Jesse [Edited by Strok on 02-17-2001 at 07:36 PM]
