Default SWF to JPEG online conversion

a quick newbie question: is it possible, with or without the aid of a third party application, to dynamically (ie on the fly) export a movie clip as a jpeg?

no not realy !

there are tools wich are abel to convert static (no script) SWF to some image format
no idea wich format mayby even jpg

search for stoff like

swf2jpg
swf2gif
swfTojpg
...
..

but i think you wana do this to a movie inside a runing SWF ?
like an image editor as SWF and then upload the result to a server as a JPG ?!

there is more or less no way to do so

whit AS3 (flash9 and flex2) coming sone there are new possibilitys
as there are betas of both some experiments in this direction are around

note
as long i know is JPG patent protected
so i douth that some one will take the eford and do this for JPG as he woud need to pay a load of patent costs

there was just a thread abouth this 2-3 days ago
there seams to by an AS3 PNG converter

search the forum for the thread or the net for more info abouth
AS3 PNG

i'll have a search around for the topics you mention, though. thanks.
