Default Formatting external text files with HTML

I'm loading an external text file in to Flash and I know I can insert basic HTML tags in to the text in order to format it a bit. My question is can someone tell me which tags I can use? The only one that seems to work at the moment is <BR>.
I'm presuming there is a way to increase the size of a font, or to change it's appearance but tags like <B> don't seem to have any effect.
I'd be greatful for any help anyone can offer ... and thank you in advance.
Cheers.

You can use HTML 1.0 -- basic style tags and href.
