Default [FlashLite 1.x] Date comparison problem

hi guys,

I just started learning about developing mobile applications using FlashLite.

I am trying to achieve this countdown timer that constantly refreshes and shows the amount of time left to a certain date (e.g. christmas).

Is there any way I might be able to get that?

Otherwise, am I able to retrieve at least the number of days left to that date?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot in advance.
