I have produced a Flash movie that contains several scenes. On variuos machines and operating systems I get mixed results with the video. On Windows 2000 Pro everything is fine. On WIndows NT 4.0 with Media Player 6.4 some video clips are missing the audio. Same thing happens on Windows 98 with wmp 7.1. It seems to be random whether the video will have audio or not. Any ideas?

If you use WMP to play the video file directly, does it have audio ?
If it also has no audio, it may result from the audio codec. Please make sure the codec is installed on the machines |

Ok. I figured it out! This took me two days to figure out.
When you use mpg video files you have to us the "Stop All Sounds" actionscript command before the video clip starts. Example: You have a movie that contains a sound clip imported into Flash into a layer. After the sound ends you want to run a video. 1 frame after the sound clip add a blank keyframe and select "Stop All Sounds" from the action script editor. This will release the system to allow the mpg video to run its audio. If you don't do this you will get very mixed results on different operating systems. I hope this makes sense and helps. |
