Well, in my book anything above 175k is big (28.8 is the average speed, believe it or not). The text animations, though very pretty, were a tad frustrating.
you may also want to play with the "soundbuftime" command, as the audio seemed to cut out on scene changes.

Exclamation re

400k , can you imagine the time it takes to load it up with 56k modem ( what most of us are using ). And the scrolling backround text was a bit disturbing. Everything else was quite ok. Nice looking menu.

Default the site

do not agree with zulu, i liked the backround text. IMHO dog is buried elsewhere : when you show me the necklace(or whatever) i want to look at it, clear and neat - right now the item stays a little transparent and THEN the backround text is disturbing. i liked your site, good!
why use flash when you dont make it dynamic? let it roll,at least it was fresh and ideas as much as i'v seen were not copied from some guru's site.
looking at your intro there must be something terribly wrong - all the bitmaps, tweens and music when optimized could possibly not be the 400 K. i think there is a way to find "a happy middle"
all the best,

awsome, thanks guys. I know the intro is big, but it is filled with bitmaps. the actual site is about 100k give or take. Any suggestions?

The reason it was done in flash was because I was just learning flash and needed a project to do.

Anyone elese?

Default have you check'ed?

by default flash will show you the bitmaps as they are imported. if you want to change the settings (maybe to lower the quality to reduce the size) you must do the following:
1.open libary
2.upper right corner options opens the menu
3.select unused items - delete
4.double click on the bitmap icon in the libary
5.opens bitmap properties
6.delelect "use doocument default quality"
7.choose the quality level you desire (up to 100)
8.test - you will be shown the size according to quality you have choosen.
9.update
10.same goes with sound

hope it was some help, if you knew it already then sorry i acted a wise guy - myshelf,i found it out only some month's ago.
all the best,
