[AS2] I'm strating a platform game completely from the ground

Here's my many problems:
I am, first of all lack any knowledge in Actionscript, yet I would like to make a simple platform game, style Commander Keen or Duke Nukem.
Anyway, I think I'm situated nicely in the graphics, but the basics for a game is the thing I don't have at all.
To make platforms, wall etc. and maybe gravity I can pickup from the tutorials and forums here, though I'd like the material concentrated...
I would like to know more about any kind of material that will help me. I would be glad if someone will take kindly my request and help me to develop my idea.

Foundation ActionScript Animation by Keith Peters.

It's pretty comprehensive and covers just about everything to do with creating interactive animation with ActionScript.

Well, you can still download the sample FLVs and look at the code and learn what you can.

The best thing would be to copy and paste the code into a good text editor that supports ActionScript. Lots of people recommend a free one called Notepad++, I use it too.

How come you can't order it in Israel?
