Default buttons with flowing in background onRollover

i want to create a menu for a website, not sure whether this would relate to action script or not tbh...

i just want it so that when i hover over the buttons, a white background would come in from the right, and when i roll out of the buttons the white background goes back to right.

would it be action script? would i need to have a mask? how would i go about doing this?

hi,

No need to go for mask
just have background colors as a movieclips.

And Make visible which one you want using script like

whiteback._visible=true;

mask and tween

this code should get you there

Code:
btn_mc.onRollOver = function() {
	delete this.onEnterFrame;
	this.play();
};
btn_mc.onRollOut = function() {
	this.stop();
	this.onEnterFrame = function() {
		if (this._currentframe != 1) {
			this.prevFrame();
		} else {
			this._currentframe = 1;
			delete this.onEnterFrame;
		}
	};
};
