fileReference download cache

Hi... I have been using fileReference.download to download files from a server using a local Flash Player (not a browser), and now I've updated the files on the server. The Player seems to have cached the old files and keeps downloading them instead of the new ones. It's important that I keep the names of the files the same. I've tried
- Clearing the cache of Internet Explorer 7
- Clearing the cache of FireFox
- resetting Internet Explorer
- searching for temp files and deleting them
It seems that Flash Player has its own cache but I can't for the life of me find it to delete it. I have seen a workaround in the forums whereby some "random junk" is added to the filename to trick Flash into downloading the file anew each time, but I can't use this because I generally DO want to have Flash cache the files (just not at the moment while I'm testing) and I need to keep the names the same.
Can anybody please tell me HOW Flash Player caches downloaded files, and WHERE I can find them to delete them?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Well, I think you want your bread buttered on both sides...

Think that maybe you should implement the no-cache policy or rename your files. I dont think you can clear the cache runtime.

Are you using actionscript 2 or actionscript 3?
