how to clear a movieclip

I am trying to use an empty movieclip to draw a menu on and when the screen is resized redraw the menu...when I redraw it i the previous version of the menu is still there.

make the browser windows larger and smaller!

is there a way to clear the movieclip, or a smarter way to do this? each of the boxes will end up being a button movieclip, trying to make it really light!

it depends what you are using to draw the clip, but unloadMovie() might work
