I'm running CS3 on Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.10. Recently I've been experiencing a very annoying bug whenever editing an ActionScript external file. It's hard to explain but the cursor appears in the wrong place, usually about 2 characters out. So it'll appear that the cursor is in the middle of a word, but it's actually adding characters to the end of the word when I type.
Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix? It makes editing incredibly frustrating... |

Yes, Mac stinks!
Well, no I'm just a bias PC user, but I have work with Flash on a Mac and I've noticed the same thing. It' almost as if the computer stops redrawing the little line cursor. I also noticed that sometimes it would leave duplicates of itself behind, so I would have a line in between each letter in the word I just typed. I think the problem is that Flash AS files are for developers while Macs are only for designers and so they don't care about what kind of bugs show up in developing software because they are hip and would never want to use that stuff. Actually I have a better idea! How about I calculate the time you've just wasted! (that's one of "PC's" lines in one of the Mac commercials). Apple makes life hard on developers! Just look at what they did with the iPhone... Man that company makes me angry. |

I'm having the exact same issue when using Flash CS3's actionscript editor. Its extremely frustrating. I've searched everywhere online and haven't been able to locate a fix for this bug. Charles, if you've found a fix for this could you PLEASE pm me. I'm new to Flash and this editing problem is hampering my progress. If anyone else knows how to fix this issue, feel free to contact me as well. Thanks!

Some fonts don't work well.
if you are scripting .as files in the flash application, use the preferences to change the font. I've had good luck with fixed width fonts. |
