install ffmpeg on windows

im using XAMPP on windows cause i like to test stuff thoroughly and quickly before putting my projects on the internet. I want to learn how to use ffmpeg to make an flv player/encoder. how can i install this on windows. do i need to download and install both ffmpeg and ffmpeg-php or just the ffmpeg-php?

Just get the ffmpeg.exe program and place it in the directory with your PHP script, then you can use it with the exec() function to utilize it.
e.g.

exec("ffmpeg -i \"original_movie.mpg\" \"output_file.flv\"");
?>
