As promissed: Projector & CD Burning FAQ...
__________________________________________________ ________
Update 11th Oct 2002
I see people keep downloading the first FAQ attachment... Thank you, I'm glad and honored so many of you used it, but check first here for the updated version:
http://usuarios.lycos.es/didinomade/...BurningFAQ.htm
keywords: projector, standalone, exe, hqx, CD burning, autorun, crossplatform, hybrid, Mac, applescript, FSCommand, exec, fullscreen, icon
__________________________________________________ ________
As the answer to Billy's challenge I tried to do my best and here is the result. It definitely needs improving, specialy with Macintosh issues (applescript is complete mistery for me), so anybody please feel free to add corrections, resources and anything you think might be useful to best cover the topic. I first thought of it as "sticky" post as it is on FlashKit, but if you mods/Jesse/Strok think it should fit better on other section of the site, I leave it to you...
Cheers,
DD

Oh, wow! Now, that's a tutorial...
I didn't realize that MX didn't allow passing arguments anymore.
About the "MMSave" command (undocumented), I was playing around with it the other day, and YES!, the fla file actually creates a file on a HD. It doesn't happen when you run the swf file, though...
Congrats, DiDi...

2nd version
I've got a few comments/questions for this tutorial since the first post, but for some reason people prefered to send it to me by mail .
Guys/gals, I am really glad so many of you found this info useful and I appreciate your feedback but please, don't e-mail me (unless, of course, you have a personal or business proposal ), post HERE... I am no guru for this subject, and when you post your comment or question on the forums, more people will see it and chances are better that you (and me, and everybody else in the future) would get faster and better solution here then in my inbox.
So, here is the second version with some small corrections and a few more resources. If somebody is interested, I have Spanish and Italian translation almost done, so just ask for it!
Cheers,
DD
PS: Strange though, not a word from Billy... . It was his idea after all ...

memory allocation/osX ?
It may be vise to allocate enough RAM memory (size of your projector, size of .swf files to load into the main one and a couple more Mb just to be sure) to your Mac partition before burning, because CD inherits its memory settings.
I've come across a situation in which this is applicable...
But, is it possible to manually allocate memory from within OSX????
or will I need to build and burn my cd in 9....?
thanks...Reilly.

I found this issue about allocating memory repeted on various forums... Unfortunately, no details were given and I never did that in practice (I just get to work ocasionaly on my friend's Mac).
Some Mac user around here will know the answer, otherwise try posting at Macintosh forum at FlashKit.

Thanks Abel... Do we get some special treatment now? Or we get some wild net parties once a month ? Hmmm... I wish I could see those of the 4-digit club then...
Update on FAQ
Since some people had problems with downloading attachments here, and others complained about .php3?... extention, I uploaded the last version here:
http://usuarios.lycos.es/didinomade/...BurningFAQ.htm
I am going to update it there whenever I come about something new or useful, so stay tuned...
