Default Flash and AIR

Hello,
Hopefully my final question about this topic,

I just came across AIR, and was quite interested about the capability's, I've partially read the Doc's about the sandboxes (application and non-application),
meaning it was designed mainly to operate as a Desktop application, not a web application.

But then again, the documentation says you can build a bridge between AIR and other languages in the non-application sandbox accessing a small part of the application sandbox security layer (some functions).

My question is, does this mean I can build a Flash/AS3 thingy in my browser, and build a small bridge to access the AIR app to *only* read local files the user has selected (and this again from the browser, a website, as in a server on the internet) and let the two communicate (AIR<->Flash/AS3)?

I've read a lot of posts where developers said that this option was not "functional" yet in the Beta version, but will be in the final release.

Well hope anyone could answers before I spent all my time learning to work with these programs and find out

Cheers

Default "About the LocalConnection class"

Well,

"LocalConnection objects can communicate only among AIR applications and SWF files that are running on the same client computer, but they can run in different applications. For example, two AIR applications can communicate using the LocalConnection class, as can an AIR application and a SWF file running in a browser."

LocalConnection Class

This is what I mean, does anyone have experience with it? I don't want to know 'HOW' to do it, just want to know if it is possible..

Anyone?

Cheers

I'm wondering about something similar to this: I've been able to get localConnection to work between two SWFs, but I cannot send anything from a SWF to an AIR app.

I already tried 'allowDomain' from both localConnection (doesn't work) and from the Security class (throws an error).

Any info would be great
