Default unexpanding nodes after a certain depth

Is there anyway to collapse all the nodes past a certain depth in a ADG? I know there is a expandChildrenOf function, but the way I'm working this puppy doesn't allow me to tally the item that I would need to pass to that function expandChildrenOf.
