Default Stupid Question

On this website...
http://www.flashmagazine.com/tutoria...ctionscript_3/
When clicking the top image the screen tints black and loads the image on top of the window. I would love to do this. Does anyone have any insight on where I would look to learn how to do this? Any help would be nice. Thanks.
