Angry Sound.Problem

Hi

I'm creating some interactive projector files which load video and i'm having problems getting sound to work consistently in Flash .

There are 3 frames... each frame has activities, etc which activate when a button is clicked ... sorta like pages in a book .

When a video is opened on a frame, then closed, then another activity started ... if i come back to the video and open it plays but the Sound cuts out part way thru . Its not at any specific point - it happens arbitrarily - and it happens on all vids .

Any ideas ? its driving me crazy and the boss ain't happy .

ok; it seems i had all sortsa SoundMixer.stopAlls shhhshing things all over the place .

Next Question...

I need to stop the playHead in my addChilds() . Is there a way to globally do this ?

especially from a child i may not know the name of ... ?

I dont know anything about SoundMixer but you could dispatch an event.

whenever you need to stop the sound you add this line of code to the object.
ActionScript Code:
dispatchEvent(new Event(Event.INIT, true));

then just add a listener to the stage or whatever for the Event.INIT event.

the event will bubble up to the stage and if you need to do stuff to the object that dispatched the event there's the target property of the event.

ok thanks. I've sorted the SoundMixer problem out .

Is there a way to 'globally' stop the playHead of addedChildren that i don't know the names of ?

well, like i said I've never used to the soundMixer. so do you have to stop it on each child added to the stage? or do you just need to know when to stop it?
