[FlashLite 1.x] Refrencing movie clip in root!

Hello all,

I have two movie clips on stage named: mc_1 and mc_2. Now mc_1 contains a button, which when clicked, should play the mc_2 movieclip.

My question is how do I reference this movie clip? I need the syntax?

Hi Vinayak,

You can write following code on the button inside mc_1.

on(release)
{
trace(_parent.mc_2);
}

This way you an reference mc_2. Sorry but I don't know the code to play it in flashLite 1.x version.

Yup....thats the issue.... I cannot use _parent in FlashLite 1.x!

Can anybody please help me. I want something which means '_parent' in FlashLite 1.x. We cannot use the _parent keyword in FlashLite 1.x. Can somebody tell me the alternative, any e.g. etc.....please?
