Default Adding code to a component event handler?

Hi,

If I have a FPushButton component, which has it owns onRollOver function, is there a way I can add my own code to it, without either a) replacing the original code, b) modifying the code in FPushButton directly (hard-coding)?

I try to use the ToolTips component from Macromedia but it works by totally replacing the onRollOver function of the component u set it to, so the onRollOver code in FPushButton will be replaced by the Tooltips code (i think that is how it works), and I like to avoid that.

If I write my own tooltips I still need to hardcode it inside the onRollOver function, don't like that either (defeat the purpose of re-usable component).

Looking for an alternative to do this, any advice?
