Nice, i enjoyed that. Somone obviously paid attention in theire math class !

The research section :

I particularly liked the 'vertigo' experiment, if you draw a spiral with you cursor, you cane really create a 3d environment, feel like you are falling.

Although i thought it was pretty shocking to use, i may be missing something - but how the hell do you get back to the main menu ?????

And, how do you know that the figure in the corner of the menu (bottom right) downloads the files ???

Not very good at all in that department.

Absolutely right, I had to press the back button all the time :/

And concerning the download thing, it is written, in the "?" of the menu on the left.

Yep, I like this site too. Chad Corbin, the guy who made it has just written a chapter for us in the Flash MX Most Wanted book on a similar effect to Vertigo. You can play around with it here. It's all dynamic - drawing API, XML and external JPEGs. Tough on the CPU after a while, but it's worth it! Get to feel some real motion if you size your browser to the whole screen.

For us, you say? Who's us exactly? FofE? And I heard Bit was part of that project too, but the old man wouldn't tell us what he had done... Care to tell us more, there's not much on the site.

Yep, foED indeed. Bit101 wrote a chapter on creating Flash math visual experiments. Not for application or purpose - just for creating good-looking images using code. Kind of accessible introduction to Flash maths rather than a full-on code mammoth beastie. Here's two of bit's files to give you an idea:

math_movie (Click to execute code)

This'll hammer your CPU but is colourful

Other stuff in there... MP3 jukebox - standard movie that people always ask about on help forums especically with a library dynamic mp3s. The sofake site, new mir-corp intro, and a guy called Adam Phillips, an animator for Disney. He's made a new animation called hitchHiker: part two on his www.oohbitey.com (sorry can't give you direct link to the new movie - you need to navigate into the castle and find the animations section), and you and you can tinker with his source files for the movie in Flash. Add sound shapes to a giant's mouth and sync it to audio: you could make the giant sing Grease if you wanted. That's not in the book.
