How to assign a variable to a combobox?

I am working with a asp programmer who wrote a code to grab data from a flash form and send it back to flash.

I have various text input boxes which are easy to set a variable to but teh combo box I have two choices each one with data and a label. However the asp code needs a variable and I dont see anywhere to define a variable for the combobox itself.

Or perhaps when a person chooses an item from the combo box it assigns itself to a variable somehow....

Any ideas or insight?

Thanks for that link, Im gonna try it and see if its what I need. I'm trying to make this flash work with a ASP script that this programer wrote who works wtih me.
