Default Slide in wipes for window transitions

I came across a great site www.cbcradio3.com hit the launch site text if it doesn't auto load.

I was wondering how they do the slide effect when the window changes...when you hit "table of contents" on the side, you'll see.

Is this a actionscript or a built in effect in Flash?

I have Flash MX and was wondering how to do this. I am a newbie to actionscripting. If there is a link to this type of effect in the "Movies" section, please let me know.

Thanks!!!

I think its just a black box with a white line that starts moving from left to right and vice versa. Its pretty basic and can be achieved by either tweening the effect or by using the _x property of the 'black box' mc (movieclip) like this :
ActionScript Code:
moveSpeed = 4; on (enterFrame) { if (_root.moveDirection == "moveRight") { if (_root.blackBox._x < rightBorder) { //you need to define this to stop it at the right time. Depends on the width and location you want it to stop _root.blackBox._x += moveSpeed; } }else if (_root.moveDirection == "moveLeft"){ if (_root.blackBox._x > leftBorder) { _root.blackBox._x  -= moveSpeed; } } }
the button to start the movement from left to right would then have something like :
ActionScript Code:
on (release) { _root.moveDirection = "moveRight"; // moveLeft by the other }

after looking at the site: www.cbcradio3.com what book would you reccomend for someone looking to make a site with similar interactivity and function?

Also, how do you make your Flash site's window fit for any resolution?

Sorry, don't know anything about any of the books, but what I saw wasn't all that advanced. They just make good use of the tools they have at their disposal to get the message across. I think some people suggested a couple of books and if you use the search engine you'll find them. I'm guessing the best one would be one that covers Flash from the ground up, so when searching use search criteria as "book +basics" or something like that. Good luck ! Hope you find something good for you !

To have the site fit in any resolution, well, with flash that is, you can publish your swf at 100 percentage, instead of a certain amount of pixels. And use exact fit.
