Red face [AS2] preloading in scrollpane component‏ (load in first frame off)

Can anyone point me in the direction where i can find information about preloading movie clips within a scroll pane?

I am using the scrollpane component as the main contents window, the buttons change the "contentPath" property of the scrollpane to change the content of the scrollpane appropriately. (By changing the source MC of the contents)
ActionScript Code:
this.Button1_btn.onRelease = function() { _root.ScrollPaneContainer.contentPath = "page001_mc"; } this.Home_btn.onRelease = function() { _root.ScrollPaneContainer.contentPath = "blank_mc"; }

Now; I have 21 pages, and the trouble is they are quite heavy in content, so when I link (using the linkage property) the movieclips, I remove "export in first frame" to eliminate loading everything at once and making the loading sequence lag.

But now nothing loads within the box (it says cannot locate file)... because I haven't loaded it yet, technically.

I am imagining a similar thing to the preloading sequence of the website:

ActionScript Code:
this.LoadMovieClip.page001_mc; this.getBytesTotal(); this.getBytesLoaded(); etc..

am I close? Is there a tutorial on the net somewhere that I cant seem to find??

Thanks anyone who can help!
