Default Input Text Box Help

So i am creating a test, in the first frame i want the user to input their name in an input text box and then have it display at the end. Now how would i go about doing that.

I have set it like this:

var n1=String;
starttest_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER ,overit);
starttest_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, outit);
starttest_mc.addEventListener("click", asdf);
starttest_mc.textAnimation.textBox.text="Start Test";

function asdf(click) {
var n1:String=String(n1_txt.text);

function overit(e:MouseEvent) {

function outit(e:MouseEvent) {

Now when i play it it comes up on the last frame saying [Class String]

any help would be appreciated
