how to get this effect

any ideas on how this was done? I'm interested in how the "flipping" of images happens and also on the background animation...how do you get that?

That shouldn't be too hard to recreate. You could even do it on the timeline if you really wanted.

Personally, I would to it with TweenLite.

You just have to scale it in from the left with a fade on rollover and then scale it out to the right with a fade on rollout. There is no "flipping" happening, it just looks kind of like it.

One thing I noticed about that site, is that the mouse over hit area is smaller then the image being "flipped." That can be done by either assigning a hitarea or just have the animation happen in the background while the alpha=0 buttons are in front.

hmm...I've been playing with it, both on the timeline and with tweenlite (I never used that before) and I'm finding this harder than I thought
Anywhere I can see some example of how this was done? A tutorial or something? I just really need to see how it was done to understand I think. I guess this learning experience is harder than I expected. I picked a hard one to try and imitate!

try using the transform tool or the 3d rotation tool..but i prefer using 3d rotation tool if you want to..but you need your object first to be symbol e.g button, movie clip, etc so the 3d rotation tool can work...
