setChangeHandler

I can't get this to work and it's driving me crazy. I simply need to know when the value of the combobox changes. It is an editable combobox. Here is the code I've been trying

mcForm.cmbMake.setChangeHandler("MakesChange2");

MakesChange = function(){
    trace("it changed");
}

Well one thing is that you used MakesChange2 but your function name is MakesChange.

mcForm.cmbMake.setChangeHandler("MakesChange2");

MakesChange = function(){
        trace("it changed");
}

Also try putting the function in the root and use

mcForm.cmbMake.setChangeHandler("MakesChange", _root);

MakesChange = function(){
        trace("it changed");
}

Ok, really I'm not an idiot. I had them the same then got the idea that maybe I had a duplicate function and changed it to "2" at the end of the function, then when I switched it back I forgot to take off the "2" on the one...anyway I don't even drink beer, honest. The _root was the problem. Thanks for the help!
