How to reply to Comments
Hello
I just received a comment with a question I wanted to reply to. I went into the authors section and clicked Edit/Reply, but nothing happened. So I went to the front of the site and hit the link in the comment itself to reply. That worked fine, but in order to post my answer to the comment I had to rate the article. Well, I gave it a 5, but it would have been nicer not to have to rate myself. Is there somewhere in the author section to do this directly where I don't have to rate my own work?

Sounds like a great feature request and that actually should have been considered when they develop the product...
xty, not sure if that's something Jesse can fix right away or not though since we are using a third party tool for that section... I am sure Jesse can reply with more detail...

Hi CyanBlue
Thanks for the reply. Not a big deal. I was just making sure I hadn't missed something obvious, which is what I mostly miss.LOL

Yeah I hate that "feature" myself but we'r enot keen to tinker with the off the shelf product more than we have to, because it's out of support now (long story). Anyway, I always just rank my article 3 / 5

Hi Jesse
Thanks. Like I said I just didn't want to be doing it the wrong way. Where it says Edit/Reply in the author section, was where I assumed you did it, but I guess that feature is not active?

Yeah that feature works but you can't apply it to comments related to a specifi author. E.g. if we enable it, every author can edit every comment on the site, and we thought that was a little too much power, because we get some spammers trying to sign up as authors.

No, I don't want that kind of responsibility!
Thanks.
