A seemingly simple image question..

Im trying to make a movie similar to the one at freddygotfingered.com for a project in my Flash 4.0 class. I want to have a picture of my head floating around while music plays and when there is a scream in the song I want my mouth to open like a puppets. I can't figure out what i need to do to my picture. Do I have to use the lasso tool to remove my lower lip and chin and make that a seperate symbol? Check out the website and you'll see what I mean. I have this huge book on Flash and its really hard to navigate through it to find the answers I need. Thanks for the help!

A word of warning paul trying to sync sound and animation in flash is almost impossible.
There are so many variables like CPU speed,Platform etc etc.
