Unhappy card game

dear folks,
I just started learning flash action script. I am now working on a card game in flash5. The game has 16 cards in all. I don't know how to write the script for shuffling the cards without duplicating any card. The cards movie clips are named deck1.... deck16.
Hope someone will help me.
