I'm used to the stand alone Macromedia Flash Player.
You know the one, you open a .swf file on your computer and it comes right up.
But I was on a new computer that didn't have any flash installed. Went to the macromedia site and downloaded the flash player.
Even after I restart when I try to open a .swf file there is no flash player. I can drag it to a browser window and it works. But I want the flash player.
I looked all over the macromedia site but there doesn't seem to be a download for it.
What am I missing?
Is the flash player only availible with the Flash authoring program itself?
If I use the projector it adds 800k to every little movie.
If you just drag it to a web browser it gets enlarged. I don't want to add an extra html doc.
there is/was one somewhere on macromedia's site. it included updates for all the flash players you can have - one for debugging in flash, the standalone, and the web player (and maybe others?).
Does anyone know for sure if it is OK to make copies of the standalone player so everyone at works computer can play flash files properly? I couldn't find any information on their website.
