Default On the Menu

I enjoy the overall design work and the fluidity between the menu and the main interface. I am not sure however that the overall design of your menu is intuitive enough.

Why have you chosen to use this type of system where you have to press one icon and roll over anothe rin order to access the material? It was a bit confusing to me.

Also on the roll overi feel that there is to much of a delay between the action and the event.
