Default Just for Kicks Challenge Concepts

OK team, following the success of the first JFKC (http://www.actionscript.org/forums/s...threadid=26086) we'd like to start another. Rather than me pick the topic this time I'd like to encourage everyone to post one or two of their best ideas for a JFKC here (read the linked thread above if you don't know what the JFKC is about) and then we can just pick one of these up each week (or fortnight) and run with it.

My suggestions are:
- Coolest FUI Component extension (like adding arrow-key support to the scrollpane).
- Ahh that's all I can think of on the spot!

Get posting!

Ditto!

And by the way Jesse, I don't want to brag or anything, but I think I'm not a complete newbie with Flash, but I have no freakin' idea about how to implement an extension to the components.

Just my 2 Eurocents.

eye candy is eye candy...anything goes IMO.

there was a contest on ultrashock about a year or so ago i thought was cool. basically everyone creates a program that looks & functions identically to one another and the highest framerate wins. there was also a 5k limit on the final swf.

OK so let's say the next one is as follows:
- General eye candy
- 50 lines of code max (?... I don't make eye candy so I don't know how much code it takes)
- Code only, no items in the library (again, is this possible for eyecandy?)
- Must use pink *My quest for the use of pink continues*

If ppl can agree, or dispte the above claims, once we've reached a verdict I'll post the official starting point for the second JFKC.

Oh by the way, did you all receive your newsletter last night? The system says they went out as they should have.

Eye-Candy is basically what we did with Bit, Fara
Talking about the ol' Bit, his last contest was thematic (about plants), and I must admit that it was very cool).

Concerning the number of lines, we've seen during the contest that it doesn't mean anything, as some people achieved Asteroids, Snake and 3D engines in 25 lines ( ). A very good compromise is the file size. On a French board, the limit was set to 500 bytes, which is really not much. I'd say 1 or 2 kB is more than enough.

C'est juste quelque chose de beau (doux pour les yeux, littéralement), qui ne sert à rien à part à être sympa à regarder
