Masking - using MC.setMask(Mask);
Hi, i'm using the setMask functionallity to presents scrolling up text inside "TV", the Mask MC is in not in a cube shape, the text is visible outside the mask BUT as if the mask is cubical ??? meaning there is masking on the text - but a "cubical" masking...
I m using MX, and the text area is inside MC i m attaching from the lib.
Any idea????
thanks in advance,
Maya.

Embed your font.
Search for "embed font" if you need some help.

hi and thanks for replying !
I don't think it's an embed which will solve it - the masking is working but in the shape of the "minimal cubical" that surrounds the actual shape of the masking movie clip... and not the shape of the masking movie (lets say ie. that the masking MC is circle, then it presents the text on the area where the circle is but as if it is a cubical shape.)
???

Did you even TRY to embed the font?

Strip, Zip -n- Clip your file.
Strip out all unnecessary parts, compress it, then attach it to this thread and I'll look at it to see what's wrong.

Your company won't let you create a textfield, mask it and upload the file? I'm not looking for a client list, just a sample file illustrating how you're trying to achieve the effect.
Oh well...

to get the file to be that basic it will take the time i wish i had...
i'll try to put it in words:
there is an empty MC - which is animated going upwards (sort of scrolling news), this empty MC is masked using the setMask function - which the MaskMC is in shape of circle.
There is a function which recieves XML - lets say about 10 tags, and for each tag the Func draws a "NewsItem" inside the empty MC.
When clicking on any object (MC, graphic...) the selection is viewd by seeing a frame arround the object - usually, even though the MaskMC is circle the text is visible in the area of that frame...

Okay, well if you zoom into the published SWF file and look at the masked text, are the text edges jagged or anti-aliased?
