Question Last Details - New Web Site. Help me and Check it out

Hello,

i am launching a new web site: http://www.27lamps.com

In this moment i have a few last minute questions:
1. Should i keep the entry page or make an instant redirect if the visitor has flash?
2. How can i determine if a visitor has a specifique flash version? Can i use actionscript? Is there a better way?
3. Should i open the web site in a new and smaller window as i see so many times or displaying it in the same window is better?
4. Do you know any good dreamweaver extension or code for metatags?
5. Can u sugest me any good stratagies for search engines?

I will be happy to receive any opinion or sugestion related to my web site design, speed, etc.

I had a lot of help from people from this forum during the creation of this web site, so i would like to say thank you.

Thank You,
Miguel Moura

P.S: This web site was created using Flash MX.

If U want to use Flash detector, it's better to have an index page, and then the main, like in your case, check it out here
http://www.actionscript.org/tutorial...sh/index.shtml

As for the design, it looks nice, but somewhat dark(ish) for my taste, buttons are nice, though browsing through experimental with keyboard is unnecessary, I think, and I got only till C letter...

The site exploration percentage is great, very good idea, that kept me browsing some more.
Preloaders work good, I am on 256k, and it went smooth.
I am sure some of the 56k users will give U feedback also.

All in all, you did a good job, congrats!

Hello,

thanks for your advices. I made allready some changes. However i have one more problem. If you go to my web site http://www.27lamps.com you will see something strange going on when you press the TAB key.

Can you tell me how to disable the TAB key in my web site? I want to disable it not only in the main .swf file but also in all the others which are loaded.

Thank You,
Miguel

tabindex is set like this:

Selection.setFocus("_root.mc_you_want_to_focus");
_root.mc1.tabIndex = 1;
_root.mc2.tabIndex = 2;

etc..

try using some code like this to disable the tab key in the movie:

this.createEmptyMovieClip("listener", 1);
Key.addListener(listener);
listener.onEnterFrame = function() {
_ _ if (Key.isDown(Key.TAB)) {
_ _ _ _ _trace("Tab was pressed!!!");
_ _ }
};
