Question optimizing filesize/linkage from library

I built a site which consists out of one SWF file. All the content pages are in the library and linked for export for AS. They are called from the library with attachMovie.
Now I find my preloader isn't working, because all the linked library items are loaded before anything else....
Does anybody has a suggestion on this one?
Is it smart to load the main.swf into a holder.swf which contains a preloader? Do I have to put all the content items into levels or something so the linkage from the library is not necessary anymore?

tnx, Niels
