I am having trouble dragging movie clips, and buttons to the stage. They just bounce back to the library as if it was not allowed or impossible. HELP!

make sure:
a) the layer you're working on isn't locked
b) that lirary is for that FLA. You get this sometimes when more than one FLA are open, and you try to drag elements from the wrong library to the stage.
