Default Flash Website logic?

Hi, I want to do a flash website and never done it before so any kind of help/link/tutorial would be appreciated. But I have a question just to see if I understand the logic, the basic of how it works. I've used flash before without programming, although I know where the commands are and such.

So, tell me if I am wrong but for me, I think doing a website in flash would be like for example I have my intro animation on a frame with a stop at the end or again a goto frame, where it has a stop with my navigation menu. Is it simple like that... using goto frames and stop to go to different section... say I just want to present a design portfolio...

Anyway I hope I am clear enough, i am just trying to understand the logic of it, if anyone can help me, it would be very appreciated...

thanks for your time

pretty much. but u should plan out ur site 1st, such as is it a simple portfolio site ( series of animation sequences run in some order ) or r u gonna have
interactivity ( buttons that execute diff. things ). once u got everythin laid
out & ready 2 go, puttin it all2gether should b easy.

I am not sure about the stop thing, I want it to stop but at the same time if I click the buttonI want it to load something... it seems that when I put a stop, the commands below aren't working.

Well I was practicing to get the logic first, then it's only a question of design.

here's a little .fla if you want to take a look and tell me... what I am trying to do is when the movie starts it stop at the blue circle. When I click on the blue circle, it goes to frame 40.

Now my problem is, if I put a stop, it just stop and I can't click on it, and if I don't put a stop well... I can't click it doesn't stop

thank you for your help my friend

here's the link to the file

Can you explain me this

_root.btn.onPress = function() {
gotoAndStop(40);
};

1st of all, u give ur button an 'instance' name ( in the properties bar ) & assign actions to it frm the main timeline.

so, _root.btn.onPress refers 2 the button sittin on the stage at level 0.
and its better 2 keep ur actions on a separate layer frm ur graphics.

make sense?

also check out tut 2 & 3 frm the tutorial section
