Default video/chat works locally, help me make it external.

I have an app (chat/video) that works fine locally, I just don't know how to set it up on my external server.

I followed Giacomo Guilizzoni's tutorial at Macromedia:
http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx/..._comm_app.html
and it works well locally.

I don't mind paying for a FCS hosting service, but only if that's the only alternative.

Is there a way for me to host FCS locally and point to it from the chat/video app externally?

I appreciate you thoughts and replies.

Hi there,

If it works locally then it should definately work on a live server. You are right that you will have to host it on a FlashCom Service Providers server and pay them monthly charges.

If you wish to host it on your machine then you will have to request your ISP to port forward all requests to port 1935 to your machine. Not many ISP's allow that, but you could try.

I would advice you that you pay for hosting solutions due to the bandwidth advantage.

I hope this helps. Do let me know if you would require anything else.
