masking problem

im trying to mask a movie clip(Mc1) that has 20 frame animation. The way im masking it is i have a shape on the mask layer and in the beginning the shape is 1 pixel wide and 10 frames later, the shape is 300 pixel wide. So kind of like a transition where it slides revealing whats underneath(Mc1). Masking works fine, but problem is, Mc1 plays at the beginning of masking transition and it plays again at the end of mask transition. I dont want Mc1 to play twice like that, is there a way to fix this?

It seems like flash is treating mc1 as a new mc at the end of the masking.
Was flash always like this or is it happening just to me? is there a way to fix this? this is driving me nutts..

If you put a Key Frame at Frame 10 where the mc1 is located it will act as a new mc.

if you only want mc1 to play once, couldn't you just put a stop(); on the last frame of the animation?

sralok, would there be a way around it? so Mc1 play only once..?
