Exclamation The great <table> challenge

Hello all,

I've been working my behind off trying to get a Content Management System that currently works with HTML only, to also work with Flash (via XML). After a few initial hiccups, things seem to plodding along just fine now....however, I've hit a huge brick wall.....

The CMS allows the user to create basic tables to add to their pages, but I've just discovered that Flash cannot recognise the <table> tag!!

This causes me an enormous problem, this option must remain in the CMS, therefore I need to somehow create a work around.

So my question to you guys is...does anyone have any idea how I can go about doing this? Has anyone done it before? If I have to code this in pure in actionscript, so be it, but does anyone have any idea where I can start? What do you reckon the best way to approach it would be?

Many Thanks in advance

http://sourceforge.net/projects/fpxhtmlrender/

I highly suggest taking a look -- it's a flash XHTML renderer with support for table rendering. Read the docs and you should be fine as long as you're strict with your HTML ^_^

no problem, let me know how it works. If you find that it doesn't suit your needs, take a look on macromedia's website at DevKit volume 9. They've released an XHTML renderer as well, which I haven't checked out.
