Default copy and paste code

I must be doing something basically wrong here but I can't seem to copy and paste code in the Actions panel. I'm using the main Flash menu for this which has the 'paste in place' option rather than just 'paste' so this makes me think I shouldn't be using the main menu. Should I be using the Actionscript editor but how do I get into that?

Thanks

Steve

Default just use this

Well paste in place is for graphics which are on the stage. These commands are used to things which are on stage only.So if u want to copy some code and paste it in some other, first of all select all of the code or the portion ofcode u want to copy then press "ctrl+c" from normal key board and where u want to paste your code click your mouse there and press "ctrl+v" from normal key board.Thats it.
