I am trying to develop an application that will allow a user to add a visual representation of a venue (stadium, arena, church) and map the seating to it so a 'customer' can select a specific section/row/seat(s) (drill down). My question is: Can Flash help me accomplish this? I am leaving my office to go bury my head in a flash book for the weekend but, like a good newbie knows, youse guys out there can give me more insight in 5 lines than i can get from 500 pages. hope you can help. thanks.

Well Yes it is possible, although it's not going to be a 2 day project. It will take some serious scripting with interaction between Flash and a database probably.
Closest working example I can think of is http://www.distorter.net Cheers Jesse
