scripted text along a path

Hey all.

I got a project today that has text following a path. Has anyone ever tried to do this with actionscript before? If so, can you show and explain the syntax a bit for me?

actually now that I look at this more, it is more diffucult than i originally thought. Im not sure actionscript is even possible to do this or worth the effort...maybe a timeline tween would be easier...... I have a sentence that I need to break up and each letter would be its own movieclip. All letter movieclips tween along the same motion guide and each orients to path... if this is doable in AS pls let me know, if not I think timeline tweenign will be more approporiate....

yes, letter by letter and best if done through the timeline, but you can use AS too. See:

hey sen, ya I came across that. and it was making sense until I found that I had to seperate the letters. That is some cool code tho man.

Ive decided to do this thru the timelime motion guide.... hahah..... kickback to flash 4....took me 20 mins to remeber how to do this. Does anyone know how to have multiple movieclips (on different layers) timeline tween all using one motion guide? Do I have to make new motion guides for each layer?

just animate one dynamic text field in a movie clip and attach that movie clip for each letter asigning the text of the dynamic text field to the letter you need
