I'm interested in learning how I can create, in Flash 5, a dropdown list input box similar to that in an HTML Form <select>?
The use would be to choose one of a limited number of options to be used later in a calculation script. Does anyone know of a tutorial that might explain that step by step? Thanks in advance for any help. Gerry |

I don't know of a tutorial off the top of my head but a select box smart clip comes installed with flash, in window/common libraries/smart clips - pick that apart and recreate it (or just use it, depending on your frame of mind...) There is the same widget but better made and easier to adapt by Simen Brekken (available as part of a freebie extension of standard html looking form widgets at the mm flash exchange) attached...

Thanks for the tips, Jim. I guess I'm not really clear yet on those smart clips, but I'll check that out and see if I can use that. I'll let you know how I make out after I've had a chance to look at these ideas.
Thanks again for your help. I really appreciate it. Have a Happy New Year! Gerry Egan |
