Default Security Changes in Flash Player 8

I just discovered something with the Flash 8 plugin (not the authoring tool) I have a project published as Flash 7 but my plug-in is 8.
ActionScript Code:
getURL("javaScript:myFunction()")
now throws up a messy prompt that says "Macromedia Flash has stopped a potential unsafe operation." The user then has to select the SETTINGS button which loads the macromedia web site plugin control panel. There you can set "always allow", "never allow" or "always ask".

Has anyone else seen this? I use javaScript functions all the time to open popup windows and images from Flash. I'm going to have to go through all of my old sites and handle this some other way.

Please check out:http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/fla...curity_04.html

Is this just locally on your computer or when online?

It is a new security feature of flash 8, it is annoying
because games I have made and sent to game sites
now have trouble accessing files.

I just uploaded the file and, no, it just happens when files are local. Good question, I didn't think about that. I was really scared.

I know it can't communicate with local or internet html files
unless the author gives them 'permission'.
