Default buttons do not work in scrollpane

I have a photo gallery that I got to work in MX 2004. Basically, it consists of movieclp (my row of thumbnail buttons called 'thumbnailscroller'). When you click on a button in thumbnailscroller, larger image (a .swf) loads into the image placeholder movie called .screen.

I have everything working fine. However, when I put 'thumbnailscroller' inside of the scrollpane component, the buttons stop functioning; they do not load the .swf into .screen. I've also tried this with a custom scrollpane but it still doesn't work.

I've been searching everywhere for a solution and I really need to have the thumbnails scroll. If you need me to paste any actionscript or need to see the site in question, please let me know.

Please post with any coments or solutions.
Thanks.

It seems the scope of the functions on your buttons could be wrong. What's the onrelease function?

on (release) {loadMovie("clip1.swf", this._parent.screen);

}

clip.swf is my large image and .screen is the movieclip I load the images into. Works good until I load it in the scrollpane.

That's a scope problem. Once you put the buttons inside the scrollpane, this._parent.screen isn't pointing to the screen mc anymore. It now refers to an unexisting mc inside the scrollpane. Try this._parent._parent.screen instead of this._parent.screen. This won't work when the mc containing the buttons is outside of the scrollpane. Let me know if it's working, but I think that should do the trick.
