Sound's like trouble

Greetings all.
I am having trouble with my Mp3 file. The sound is very low when I test movie. I changed the file from a Mp3 to a .wav format. Then imported the file down to my main movie scene. I tried changing the default settings to no avail. Any way I can increase the sound .wav? Thank you much for your time.

there should be a sound utility around that will let you "normalise" your audio file - ie raise it to the highest possible level without distorting it

Awsome, well I knew it would come down to that answer and it did. I down loaded a .wav editor and it works great. Not only did I increase the bandwith, but shortened the wav file down. Thanx Bill for the advise...
