I've created an extension for flash that will allow you to auto-save and auto-archive your documents.

SAFE, Sequential Archive File Extension, will allow you to automatically save and archive your flash documents while you are working. Each document can be set separately. Auto-Archive will create a backup copy of your document with a time and date stamp.

If you're interested in testing it out, you can find the newest version here:

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Ward

Default Very good idea... not working for me.

When I try to apply the settings, it locks up on me. When I click on "enable auto-save," this error pops up repeatedly:

While executing in [filename], the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
setPersistentData: Argument number 1 is invalid.

Closing the error window immediately spawns the same window, ad infinitem. I need to bring up the task manager and hard-kill Flash to get out.

Here's the Trace on it:
SAFE INITIALIZED @ 21:16:43
safe conf read array:
setting autosave timer for: 5 minutes
setting localArchive1 timer for: 10 minutes
setting localArchive2 timer for: 10 minutes

The log window remains empty.

Running Windows XP Home, SP2, AMD processor with 1 gig of RAM.

Default Woops... ignore that.

I grabbed the most recent version from your site and it works fine. You may have saved me many hours' work.

The version at flzone.net-- http://www.flzone.net/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=11626
--is out of date.
