Well you difinantly want a Flash 5 book.

We have a books section here:
http://www.actionscripts.org/books.shtml

The best of these, by popular vote, is Foundation Actionscript which got 5 stars on Amazon.com . It's also pretty resonable priced for a 500 page book.

I've still not recieved any of them, but perhaps Strok has some comments, as he's had some shipped.

Cheers

Jesse

Specially in "chapters" you'll find a lot of books for Flash5 (7-10), but most of them just about flash (not about actionscript)

-----------------------------------------------------------
I spent few hours in "chapters" last week and may be just one book has some actionscript chapters ----Foundation Flash 5

Unfortuneatley i have to say that all of those books suck when it comes to learning actionscript!

If you want to learn actionscript then i strongly suggest you purchase:

"javascript: the definitive guide" by o-reilly-----javascript: the definitive guide

the first 250 pages of this book will teach you to code properly and efficiently, such things as oop, functions, data types, prototypes, arrays, multi-dimensional arrays, inheritance and much much more.....

Peace

well i went to chapeters and baught foundation actionscript
it is a sister book to the foundation flash 5 book which i looked thru and i know 80% of the stuff in there
i went thru the foundation actionscript and it has very detailed info on actionscript starting very easy and moving into very complicated stuff. it has 480 pages of action script with examples and fla's for excersizes.
well i guess this should be a good book to at least gain a good knowledge on the language
im very creative and i will be able to advance very well if i am able to understand the language very well.
the book runs for
30 us
45 can

I have also been looking for an ActionScript book to begin learning. In my searching travels I found out the O'Reilly books are releasing a new ActionScript book, so if the O'Reilly JavaScript book wass useful for ActionScript then this should be very good to learn from.
